Tom’s place
By The Artful Diner (@TheArtfulDiner)
The other day I headed to Le Pont de la Tour to have a gander at the new dishes on executive chef Tom Cook’s menu this summer. Before joining Le Pont in September last year Tom was head chef at Restaurant Tom Aikens, but before that he worked for a year in Paris at MOF pastry chef Laurent Duchêne’s patisserie. All this and my sweet tooth means I always enjoy trying out Tom’s desserts (see the pistachio one), but this time there was a real focus on fish – incidentally he also spent time at Sydney’s famous Pier Restaurant, renowned for its exceptional fish.
Le Pont’s situation in the shadow of Tower Bridge means Tom had one very busy start to the summer with the Queen’s Jubilee. Ever onwards and upwards, he kindly found the time to cook up a bit of a storm for me and I thought I’d share it with you in the gallery below…
