Today we became the first restaurant group to back London Evening Standard’s campaign, tackling food waste and hunger in the capital.
This coming winter, D&D are helping The Evening Standard’s Dispossessed Fund and The Felix Project by aiming to raise £50,000 to put towards various charities who provide meals and food for those in need, including the homeless, elderly and people with mental health issues. How are we going to do this? The answer is simple, throughout the whole of November and December, we will be adding an optional £2 donation to your bill at any of our 22 London restaurants.
The Food For London campaign centres around the re-purposing and re-distribution of surplus food to those in need of it most. As our purchasing director, Paul Jenkins, rightly states, “we are a London business, but we are also a food business so supporting the Food For London campaign feels like a natural fit.” We are so excited to be working closely with The Felix Project to tackle London’s food wastage and give back fresh food to hungry people in need.
