Summer 2008

With Summer in full swing now is the perfect time for alfresco dining. With some of best outside spaces in the Capital, D&D London has the perfect venues for this summer's festivities.

 

Coq d’Argent

If you are looking for a breathtaking rooftop setting, the Bar Terrace at Coq d’Argent provides one of the only outdoor venues in all of the City of London. Perched on the roof of the striking No.1 Poultry building, in the heart of the Square Mile, Coq d’Argent boasts spectacular rooftop terraces with awe inspiring panoramic views making the Coq d’Argent Bar Terrace perfect for any event where superb food and stunning views are prerequisites.  The Terrace is suitable for 100 guests for a canapé reception.

Blueprint Café

Situated on the first floor of the Design Museum, the Blueprint Café offers a fantastic vantage point to enjoy views of the Thames and Tower Bridge and savour a glass of Champagne in the sunshine. This relaxed riverside venue has a terrace area that is perfect for informal drinks and canapés for up to 25 guests.

Bluebird

The newly refurbished cobble-stoned forecourt offers the perfect summer stage for a product launch or alfresco barbecue reception. The courtyard can also be used in the cooler months with  heaters and blankets being offered. The Courtyard is available from 18.00 until 22.00 in the evening and is perfect for a party of up to 350 guests.

Le Pont de la Tour 

Le Pont de la Tour is famous for its extensive wine list which can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the restaurant’s namesake Tower Bridge. The highly sought after terrace is now available for private Champagne and canapé receptions for up to 60 guests or a seated dinner for 30.  This covered and heated Terrace provides a beautiful riverside location for your event.

Orrery

Like the intricate cosmological model that lends it its name, Orrery is redolent with elegance, sophistication and attention to detail. Orrery has an amazing roof top terrace, set against the leafy background of Marylebone High Street that offers intimate receptions for up to 60 guests, and sit down occasions for 30 guests.

Launceston Place

 

Situated in a leafy Kensington, Launceston Place is a well kept secret. Recently relaunched as a sophisticated and contemporary restaurant,  Launceston Place is home to a brand new dining concept.  Situated directly adjacent to the kitchen is The Chef's Office which gives guests a magnificent insight into one of London’s most exciting and new kitchens. Whilst you dine watch you can see the chefs at work via a plasma TV screen, hear them, interact with them, tour a working kitchen and on occasion even experience cooking your menu. The Chef’s Office can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests for a seated dinner and offers a truly is a unique dining experience.

 

Skylon

 

Skylon is situated in the Royal Festival Hall on London’s South Bank, overlooking the River Thames. The design of the restaurant echoes the 1950s style of the Royal Festival Hall with added contemporary features, a worthy winner of  the UK’s Best Interior Design in the 2008 Theme Bar and Restaurant Awards. The stunning Riverview reception area, with floor to ceiling windows offers an exclusive dining area with amazing riverside views. The Riverview reception area is perfect for cocktail receptions for up to 50 guests or 30 for a seated meal.
