Book A Table
After the success of its British sister sites in London (White City and Chelsea), the renowned restaurant headed stateside and opened up it’s doors in the Time Warner Center in September 2018.
The restaurant is an expansion of our Chelsea landmark – an iconic restaurant in the heart of Kings Road. With the name ‘Bluebird’ originating from the record-breaking race car driven by famed motorist, Sir Malcolm Campbell, which set the land-speed record in 1925, especially fitting given the original London location is located within an Art Deco garage.
Bluebird London’s luxe interiors are often the backdrop for many of the New Yorker’s instagram feeds. Designed by CetraRuddy, the bold and bright upholstery paired with the stripped back wooden tables and killer views make it a winning combination.
Designer, Nancy Ruddy said she wanted to “Take the essence of D&D London and adapt it in a New York style”, whilst using the “Backdrop of Columbus Circle and Central Park to help frame the overall design of the main dining and private dining areas.”
Six months on, there is an exciting new team in place to take Bluebird to its next level. Leading the restaurant will be General Manager Morgan Nevans who joins from STARR restaurant group’s Morimoto, and British born Lauren Adams , previously Marketing Manager for D&D in London working closely on the group’s UK restaurants.
Speaking about her new positition, Morgan said: “I am very excited to have joined Bluebird London and to lead the team in driving the restaurant forward. The Lifestyle component of Bluebird London is going to set it apart from the crowd!”
The restaurant also welcomed the arrival of Executive Chef Bogdan Danila. A great asset to the team, Dan brings a wealth of experience, working under top chefs including Derry Clarke, Jason Atherton and Gordan Ramsay and the first Romanian chef to ever win a Michelin Star. Exciting updates to the menu include the Berkshire pork chop; Boston Lobster half shell, London gin cured salmon and the Butter roasted dover sole.
Danila said: “It’s a very exciting time to be joining D&D London and I look forward to developing the culinary programme for Bluebird London to ensure the restaurant is a continued success in NYC.”
This Spring, Bluebird will be in Bloom, as they partner with Jo Malone to host a series of exciting installations and events. Dressed with a beautiful floral façade, the restaurant will serve a brand new Spring afternoon tea and exclusive cocktails inspired by Jo Malone’s Blossom line: Frangipani Flower, Silk Blossom and Star Magnolia.
