Looking to the future: Our sustainability initiatives

The future is looking green here at D&D London!

Sustainability is a core belief of D&D London and is at the heart of how we are planning to move forward as a company. We know that this is an important issue to many of our customers and want to ensure that you can all feel confident that whilst you enjoy your visits to our restaurants, you will be choosing a company that is looking after the planet we all share.

So what are we doing about it?

By the end of 2025, D&D London will achieve net zero on all internal CO2 emissions generated by us and our restaurants. We are making big strides across the group to become carbon neutral (including the use of green energy only) and have put in place several policies and targets to make our company as sustainable as possible.

We are proud to hold a 3 star Sustainable Restaurant Association rating but we can’t wait to improve this over the coming years.

Our menu changes

Some of the ways that we plan to implement more environmentally conscious policies include menu evaluations and improvements such as:

Introducing organic biodynamic low cost vegetables to restaurant menus, evaluating meat portion sizes and launching a campaign for responsible meat consumption as well as continuously evaluating our vegetarian and vegan menus. We also aim to reduce our reliance on the big five fish species and add low impact species to menus.

Make sure to keep an eye on our menus to see how they continue to evolve!

What’s happening in our restaurants?

Along side menu changes we will also see operational changes such as implementing environmental and waste training at the restaurants. We will also work with our key suppliers to develop an engagement plan and work on a supplier emission reporting process with agreed targets and objectives. After all, through working together we can all make a difference!

Our Immediate Goals:

Using the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s guidelines we have set a target net zero for scopes 1 and 2 by the end of 2025:

  • Scope 1: Internal business operations
  • Scope 2: Purchased utilities for own service requirements
  • Scope 3: Supplier purchases and services

Our Longer-term Goals:

By the end of 2030, we aim to achieve net zero across the entire company including all suppliers, goods and services within the D&D London supplier chain. We will commit to only work with trusted suppliers who also share this ethos with us.

Stay tuned for future updates on improvements you can look out for in our restaurants!
