Guy Betteridge

At the age of sixteen Guy left school and signed up to a cooking course in his hometown of St Albans. After he completed this course he began his NVQ level 3 as an apprentice at Westminster Kingsway College whilst working at the luxury five star Grove Hotel.

After winning apprentice of the year, Guy decided to move to London permanently in 2008, joining the Gordon Ramsay team at Boxwood Café in Knightsbridge as Commis Chef under Simon Gregory and Executive Chef, Stuart Gillies until the restaurants closure in mid-2009.

Having a positive effect on the Ramsay group, Guy then moved to Restaurant Gordon Ramsay before re-joining Stuart Gillies for the reopening of The Savoy Grill as Chef de Partie. After a year at The Savoy, Guy joined the opening team for Bread Street Kitchen in St Pauls where he spent four years rising up in the rankings. After four years Guy was offered Head Chef position in Bread Street’s sister restaurant – Heddon Street Kitchen on Regent Street.

In 2017 after eight years in service with the Gordon Ramsey Group it was time for Guy to move on, joining the D&D group at South Place Hotel as Head Chef, working alongside Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes.
