Who or what inspired you to set up Astley Clarke?

It was founded in London by Bec Astley Clarke MBE in 2007, to celebrate design, innovation and colour in fine jewellery.  We’re known for diamonds that are made to be worn every day (because why should they be saved only for special occasions?) as well as colourful gemstones, meaningful charms and engravable photo lockets, which can all be layered and stacked together in joyful combinations.

How significant is sustainability to your brand?

We are committed to acting as a responsible, environmentally conscious brand within the industry. Astley Clarke jewellery is crafted using materials from sustainable sources, our suppliers and employees are paid a fair wage, and we establish high ethical standards across our work, all the way through to our FSC certified packaging.

We source our diamonds in the most ethical, environmentally responsible manner and ensure we adhere to the Kimberley Process.

All gemstones used in Astley Clarke jewellery have been acquired with certification from legitimate sources that have no involvement in funding conflicts and are in compliance with United Nations Resolutions.

What’s your favourite type of jewellery to design?

We love both our demi-fine and fine collections, and that we’re designing product for all price points, customers and occasions. We also enjoy seeing how our customers make their own mark on the designs, be that through an engraving or customising our signature photo lockets.

What’s your favourite piece to wear yourself?

A near impossible question, but it would have to be the brilliant-cut diamond Halo Hoops, and a colourful stack of gemstone Biography bracelets.

Who would you love to see wearing your designs?

We want vibrant gemstones and everyday diamonds to be enjoyed by one and all, so we love to see everyone wearing them.

What’s the most common feedback you receive from your customers?

The most frequent feedback we hear is that our customers appreciate the meaning behind our collections and pieces, from zodiac and celestial symbolism to the stories behind gemstones, talismans and charms. We love reading the reviews, emails and social posts from happy customers who have gifted our engravable photo lockets, those are always very special.

How did the partnership with Plateau come about?

Our in-house design team often look to the skies for inspiration, exploring celestial themes and the zodiac. Our latest collection references the navigational instruments used by bold explorers and evokes the feeling of plotting a course with help from the stars, so it seemed only natural to collaborate with Plateau during their Celestial season; the restaurant’s expansive surroundings, framed by vast floor-to-ceiling windows, provide the perfect backdrop for the collaboration.
