D&D Raises £37,000 for Hospitality Action

We’re proud to share that we collectively raised £37,000 for Hospitality Action, thanks to the efforts of our restaurant teams and the generosity of our customers throughout January to March.

D&D London raises £37,000 for Hospitality Action

Hospitality Action provides vital mental health support, financial assistance and advice to hospitality workers in the UK who are going through challenging times. We have been honoured to partner with them since 2022 and will continue to support the remarkable work they do in the industry.

Last week, our CEO David Loewi and Dean Culpan, GM of South Place Hotel and Brand Ambassador for Hospitality Action, met with Mark Lewis, Chief Executive of the charity, to discuss the impact of this donation.

Mark Lewis, Chief Executive, of Hospitality Action says: We are deeply grateful to all D&D customers, and of course, D&D itself for the generous support. It will come as no surprise to learn that the first three months of 2024 have been our busiest since the darkest days of the first Covid lockdown. High living costs, spiralling debt, relationship breakdowns, and ill health are placing thousands of hospitality households at risk of homelessness, and over half of those who reach out for our help report poor mental health. It’s only thanks to generosity like this that we’re able to continue to offer financial assistance, mental health support, advice, and an empathetic ear to those at the edge of desperation. Thank you for making a difference.”

The money raised will go towards supporting people just like Ms A whose life had taken a turn for the worse:

Having to deal with a diagnosis of aggressive cancer and then major surgery, has been hard enough, but the added fear of rent arrears and electricity bills has made things much harder. I can now pay off my arrears, keep up with my bills and put the focus on healing. Your work is invaluable, and it has made a huge difference to me! I really cannot say thank you enough.”
